BlackBrick Umhlanga is a new addition to the coast, a design-led apartment hotel where architecture, hospitality, and community meet minutes from the beach. Designed by System Architecture and developed with Avoca Developments, the ten-storey building holds 81 apartments across a considered mix of one- and two-bedroom layouts. A rooftop bar and pool sit above the everyday rhythm of Umhlanga Rocks, with a restaurant, gym, and co-working space built into daily life at ground level. Opening December 2026, it brings BlackBrick's model of thoughtful, tech-enabled living to Durban for the first time.
